Software Engineer – Cloud & AI Solutions

About the role

Join Chubb’s North America Solutions Engineering team to build and modernize line‑of‑business applications using cutting‑edge technologies such as Generative AI, cloud services, and micro‑services. You will collaborate with design engineers and business teams to deliver high‑impact solutions that drive digital transformation across the insurer.

Key responsibilities

• Implement critical deliverables for line‑of‑business applications together with Lead Solutions Design Engineers.
• Develop code in an Agile/Scrum environment, write user‑story implementations, and take part in Scrum ceremonies.
• Apply and champion Chubb engineering standards and best practices.
• Act as a liaison between business engineering teams and the central Solutions Engineering team, adjusting designs when necessary.
• Participate in design and code reviews to ensure quality and compliance.
• Research and prototype emerging technologies that support digital transformation.
• Maintain alignment with Chubb technology roadmap and architectural principles.

Required profile

• Minimum 4 years of hands‑on software development experience.
• Proficiency in a modern programming language such as Java or Python and experience with Spring Boot, micro‑services, REST and SOAP services.
• Knowledge of relational databases (e.g., DB2, SQL Server) and non‑relational databases (e.g., MongoDB, CosmosDB).
• Experience designing and building micro‑services architectures.
• Cloud experience, preferably Azure, including API Management, Kubernetes, lightweight functions and DBaaS.
• At least 1 year of DevOps/DevSecOps experience with CI/CD tooling.
• Familiarity with messaging platforms such as Kafka or JMS.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field; insurance or financial‑services background is a plus.
