Specialized Online ESL Teacher for Blind, Deaf & Deafblind Students

About the role

The Really Great Teacher Company seeks a bilingual specialist to deliver English lessons to blind, deaf, and deaf‑blind children in Costa Rica. This fully remote position allows you to work from anywhere in Central or South America while applying your expertise in visual impairment and deaf education.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct one‑on‑one and small‑group online ESL sessions using adapted, accessible materials.
• Apply Braille, sign language, and other communication strategies to meet each learner’s needs.
• Assess student progress and provide individualized feedback.
• Collaborate with the support team to ensure smooth onboarding and ongoing technical assistance.

Required profile

• Native Spanish speaker with C1/C2 English proficiency (validated by test if degree not in English).
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in English, Translation, Special Education, or related field.
• Based in Central or South America.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Braille reading/writing.
• Competency in sign language (ASL or local variants).
• Experience adapting curriculum for visual and auditory impairments.
