Air Freight Operations Specialist

About the role

The Air Freight Operations Specialist is responsible for coordinating end‑to‑end air freight activities, ensuring shipments are executed smoothly and in compliance with operational guidelines, regulations, and quality standards. The role requires proactive communication with clients and internal teams to deliver a reliable logistics experience.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate import and export air freight shipments according to client requirements and established procedures.
• Act as the primary operational liaison for clients, providing status updates throughout the shipment lifecycle.
• Validate shipment documentation to ensure accurate cargo information, pricing, and transport instructions.
• Monitor shipment progress, resolve exceptions, delays, or service disruptions promptly.
• Collaborate with carriers, regional teams, and internal stakeholders to facilitate efficient execution.
• Maintain compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and destination‑specific rules.
• Update shipment records and milestones in operational systems and tracking tools.
• Escalate operational concerns and support alternative solutions when needed.
• Assist with post‑transport activities such as documentation completion, cost verification, and billing accuracy.
• Contribute to process improvement by identifying recurring gaps and inefficiencies.

Required profile

• 1–3 years of experience in air freight operations, logistics, or freight forwarding.
• Hands‑on experience with import and export air freight processes.
• Experience working with multiple stakeholders across operations, customer service, and finance.
• Exposure to KPI tracking, milestone control, and operational follow‑up.
• Technical or technological education in logistics or freight forwarding; students or graduates in International Trade, Business, Supply Chain, or related fields.
• Basic to intermediate English proficiency sufficient for operational communication.
