Backend Developer (PHP/Laravel) for TMS Platform

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Backend Developer to join our team and enhance the server‑side infrastructure of a Transportation Management System (TMS) enriched with AI capabilities. You will work on an existing production Laravel codebase, own the API layer for web, mobile, and chatbot consumers, and ensure reliable real‑time shipment operations.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain RESTful APIs that expose TMS business logic to web, React Native mobile app, and LLM‑driven chatbot layers.
• Extend and refactor an existing Laravel (v9+) codebase, removing or updating features without disrupting live services.
• Implement robust authentication using OAuth, Sanctum, or Passport.
• Design and optimise PostgreSQL/MySQL schemas, migrations, indexing and live‑data schema changes.
• Develop webhook and event‑driven systems for real‑time shipment status updates.
• Integrate queue systems (Redis, Bull, RabbitMQ) for background processing.
• Build and maintain third‑party integrations (ELD, carrier APIs, mapping/routing, QuickBooks, Twilio, Mailgun).
• Set up push‑notification infrastructure (FCM for Android, APNS for iOS).
• Create APIs for offline sync and LLM function‑calling architecture, including input validation and prompt‑injection safeguards.
• Maintain Git discipline with clear branching, code reviews and clean commit history across two products.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of professional backend development experience with PHP/Laravel (v9+).
• Proven track record working in existing production environments and performing feature removal or refactoring.
• Deep knowledge of PostgreSQL or MySQL, including migrations, indexing and query optimisation.
• Experience with authentication mechanisms (OAuth, Sanctum, Passport) and role‑based access control.
• Strong Git proficiency and ability to follow disciplined branching and review processes.
