Communications Systems BIM Modeller

About the role

WSP Colombia is seeking a Communications Systems BIM Modeller to support the design and digital delivery of transportation infrastructure projects. You will work within the Rail & Transit group, applying BIM expertise to communications‑related elements such as public address, CCTV, telephony, data networks, and fiber links.

Key responsibilities

• Create and maintain 3D Revit models of communications systems, including cable routing, conduit, and duct bank layouts.
• Prepare installation detail packages and riser diagrams for project submissions.
• Support designers and engineers with CAD/BIM tasks, system calculations, and equipment selection.
• Apply WSP BIM standards and coordinate with the host BIM/design team to optimise multi‑regional workflows.
• Stay current with BIM, Revit, Autodesk Construction Cloud, and automation tools to drive continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, GIS, computer science or a related field.
• 5+ years of hands‑on experience designing electrical or communications systems in a consulting environment.
• Proven ability to work independently or as part of a multidisciplinary team under senior technical leadership.

Required skills

• Advanced Revit 3D modelling and BIM add‑ins.
• Proficiency with Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC).
• Experience with Navisworks and Dynamo scripting for workflow optimisation.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Bentley MicroStation.
• Understanding of communications systems (PA, CCTV, DAS, telephony, data networks) and conduit/duct bank sizing.
