Head Accountant

About the role

We are looking for a Head Accountant to lead our Finance team in Bogotá. The successful candidate will ensure the integrity and accuracy of our financial information, oversee the preparation of financial statements, and guarantee full compliance with IFRS (NIIF) and Colombian accounting standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the preparation and review of financial statements in accordance with IFRS and local regulations.
• Oversee monthly accounting closing cycles, including provisions, account reconciliations and inter‑company consolidations.
• Provide timely and accurate financial reporting to senior management and regulatory bodies such as DIAN, DANE and Supersociedades.
• Coordinate internal and external audits, ensuring all supporting documentation is readily available.
• Monitor and continuously improve accounting processes to enhance data quality, reporting timelines and operational efficiency.
• Lead, coach and develop the accounting team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous learning.

Required profile

• Degree in Public Accounting (CPA) with a specialization in Taxation, Finance or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting roles, preferably within multinational or logistics environments.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS (NIIF) and Colombian tax and accounting regulations.
• Proven experience managing accounting teams and driving process‑improvement initiatives.
• Analytical mindset, strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Great Plains and/or SAP.
• Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and financial modelling.
