North America Tax & Unclaimed Property Compliance Specialist

About the role

Johnson & Johnson is seeking an experienced professional to manage North America tax and unclaimed property compliance from our Bogotá office. The specialist will ensure accurate reporting, withholding, and escheatment compliance across the United States, Canada, and Puerto Rico while collaborating with multiple internal teams.

Key responsibilities

• Identify dormant or unclaimed property and perform due‑diligence outreach before statutory deadlines.
• Prepare, validate, and file annual unclaimed property reports for U.S. states and jurisdictions.
• Monitor regulatory changes and support state audits, voluntary disclosure agreements, and compliance reviews.
• Prepare and file U.S. information returns (1099‑NEC, 1099‑MISC, 1099‑K, 1042, 1042‑S) and manage W‑8/W‑9 documentation.
• Analyze data using Excel and financial systems to reconcile balances, resolve discrepancies, and reduce exposure.
• Partner with Accounting, Treasury, AP, Payroll, Legal, Compliance, and Customer Service to maintain audit‑ready documentation.

Required profile

• Proven experience in tax compliance, unclaimed property (escheatment) reporting, or related finance functions.
• Strong knowledge of U.S., Canadian, and Puerto Rico tax regulations and filing requirements.
• Ability to work cross‑functionally and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
• Detail‑oriented with a focus on maintaining accurate audit trails.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel for data analysis.
• Experience with financial systems for reporting and reconciliation.
