Operations & Logistics Manager – Bogota

About the role

Pacific International Lines (PIL) is seeking an experienced and strategic Operations & Logistics Manager to lead its shipping and logistics activities in Bogota, Colombia. The role is central to optimizing vessel and cargo operations, managing logistics partners, and ensuring the efficient movement of goods in line with PIL’s operational goals.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day vessel and cargo operations, including arrival schedules, berthing, loading/unloading, and turnaround times.
• Liaise with port authorities, terminal operators, shipping agents and vendors to ensure seamless operations.
• Monitor and control operational expenses such as port costs, stevedoring and logistics services to achieve cost efficiencies.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental and industry standards during port activities.
• Manage documentation processes including Approval to Carry (ATC), port paperwork, equipment tracking and vessel manifest extraction.
• Identify and resolve operational issues, escalating critical matters when necessary.
• Analyze performance data, prepare reports and recommend improvements.
• Develop and implement logistics strategies, oversee depots, transportation and distribution, and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Build and maintain relationships with logistics partners, suppliers and other stakeholders.
• Prepare budgets, manage logistics costs and lead the logistics team’s professional development.

Required profile

• Proven experience in maritime operations and logistics management.
• Strategic mindset with the ability to optimise processes and control costs.
• Strong stakeholder management skills, capable of coordinating with authorities, agents and vendors.
• Ability to lead, mentor and develop a logistics team.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and capacity to handle operational challenges.
