Senior Accountant – Remote (Colombia)

About the role

Acquisition Lab is looking for a Senior Accountant to join its Colombia‑based team and take full ownership of the accounting function for a portfolio of U.S. businesses. This remote, full‑time position combines day‑to‑day bookkeeping with process improvement and strategic financial reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end accounting for 7–10 U.S. clients, including full general‑ledger ownership and monthly close.
• Prepare clean, decision‑ready financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) in compliance with U.S. GAAP.
• Execute core accounting tasks such as bank and credit‑card reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, prepaid adjustments, payroll entries, goodwill amortization, FX and multi‑currency adjustments, and write‑offs.
• Oversee revenue recognition, cost allocation, A/R and A/P, fixed‑asset tracking, depreciation (including ROU assets), debt schedules, and inventory/equipment tracking.
• Provide direct financial support to U.S. business owners, answering questions and translating numbers into actionable insights.
• Identify inefficiencies, standardize workflows, and elevate accounting practices across all clients.

Required profile

• 5+ years of accounting experience, with at least 3 years working for U.S. companies.
• Strong hands‑on knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks Online (required) and advanced Excel/Google Sheets.
• English level B2 or higher for direct communication with U.S. clients.
• Remote work capability from Colombia.
