Senior Bookkeeper / Accountant (Full‑time, Remote)

About the role

We are looking for a senior, hands‑on Bookkeeper to support a growing portfolio of service‑based businesses. This full‑time position involves setting up new client books, managing day‑to‑day accounting tasks, and preparing tax filings. The role is remote and requires a detail‑oriented, systems‑focused professional who can work independently.

Key responsibilities

• Onboard new clients by creating and configuring QuickBooks Online accounts.
• Perform daily bookkeeping for active clients, including transaction categorisation, reconciliations and monthly close.
• Manage accounts receivable and payable, track outstanding balances and coordinate follow‑ups.
• Support payroll processing and ensure accuracy across client accounts.
• Prepare and support tax filings by maintaining clean books ahead of deadlines.
• Identify and resolve issues in client books or processes without supervision.
• Maintain organized, accurate records and documentation for all client accounts.
• Communicate clearly with internal team members for questions or escalations.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience in accounting or senior bookkeeping.
• Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks Online.
• Experience handling AR, AP and payroll tasks.
• Tax preparation experience, comfortable prepping books for filing.
• System‑oriented, highly detail‑focused and self‑driven.
• Must have a reliable computer with high‑speed internet and be fluent in English.
