Remote Legal Assistant (Paralegal) – Full-time

About the role

WorkBetterNow is seeking a full‑time Remote Legal Assistant to support its attorneys and legal teams. You will help drive efficient legal operations, ensure compliance, and contribute directly to case success while working from anywhere in Colombia.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review, and format contracts, pleadings, motions, affidavits and other legal documents under attorney supervision.
• Conduct legal research using online databases, summarize findings, and prepare reports for attorneys.
• Organize and maintain digital case files, ensuring accuracy and proper categorisation.
• Monitor legal deadlines, court dates and filing requirements to guarantee timely submissions.
• File legal documents with courts, government agencies or regulatory bodies in accordance with jurisdictional rules.
• Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, court personnel and external stakeholders regarding case status.
• Assist in trial preparation, including organising exhibits, witness lists and case summaries.
• Review contracts for completeness, consistency and compliance while maintaining strict confidentiality.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a paralegal or legal assistant.
• Strong knowledge of legal terminology, procedures and documentation standards.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Highly organised, detail‑oriented and able to manage multiple deadlines remotely.
