Air Freight Operations Expert (AFR)

About the role

The Air Freight Operations Expert (AFR) will manage end‑to‑end air freight processes, ensuring timely movement of goods while maintaining regulatory compliance and high customer satisfaction. You will act as the primary point of contact for customers, providing accurate shipment information and resolving issues promptly.

Key responsibilities

• Take ownership of transport orders, schedule pickups and optimise booking processes.
• Prepare, control and distribute documentation in line with export and import regulations.
• Collaborate with internal teams to validate and finalise documents, assign tasks and monitor performance.
• Provide first‑line customer service, delivering shipment status, documentation requirements, incident resolution and pricing information.
• Record, track and resolve operational exceptions, updating customers proactively.
• Ensure correct cost and revenue capture, taking full ownership of financial performance.
• Support weekend urgencies and critical situations affecting shipments.

Required profile

• Minimum 1 year experience in air freight forwarding.
• Strong understanding of air regulations, documentation and Incoterms.
• Proactive, solution‑oriented attitude with excellent attention to detail.
• Fluent written and spoken English.
• Prior customer‑service experience is preferred.
• Students or professionals in industrial engineering, international business or related fields are welcome.

• Incoterms expertise.
• Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel).
• Experience with Cargo Wise Transportation Management System (preferred).
