Applied AI Engineer (Automation)

About the role

Fusemachines is seeking an Applied AI Engineer (Automation) to design and deliver high‑impact AI and automation solutions for its clients. This mid‑to‑senior individual contributor will own the full lifecycle from discovery through prototype and production deployment, working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy customized AI and automation solutions aligned with client objectives.
• Translate business problems into production‑grade AI workflows using Python and automation platforms such as n8n, Make, or Zapier.
• Integrate large language models via APIs (OpenAI, IBM watsonx.ai, Amazon Bedrock) and build agentic workflows with LangChain, LangGraph, and Google ADK.
• Implement Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines using vector databases (Pinecone, Elasticsearch, pgvector) and, when appropriate, graph databases.
• Ship fast prototypes and harden them into scalable, reliable systems with testing, monitoring, and continuous improvement.
• Participate in client discovery sessions, run technical demos, and clearly communicate trade‑offs.
• Provide ongoing support, feature enhancements, bug fixes, and model/prompt optimizations.

Required profile

• Mid‑to‑senior level professional with strong independent execution capabilities.
• Experience collaborating with Solutions Architects, Delivery leads, and Product Managers.
• Ability to translate complex business requirements into technical solutions.
