Field Technician – Equipment Maintenance

About the role

BIA Group sells, rents and provides after-sales services for equipment used in public works, mines, quarries and transport, operating in Europe, Africa and Asia. It is looking for a technician to carry out effective and efficient technical interventions on field equipment and systems, under their own responsibility, so that customers are satisfied according to BIA's maintenance contracts and SLA agreements.

Key responsibilities

• Erect, configure, modify, maintain, troubleshoot and repair field equipment according to shop manuals and repair processes.
• Keep equipment running continuously and available by completing preventive and curative maintenance to the instructions and OEM standards.
• Follow planning instructions and reporting requirements, and represent BIA's values on site.
• Maintain safe working conditions for everyone on site and follow HSE procedures, including wearing and maintaining PPE and stopping work in case of serious danger.
• Protect the environment and report any health, safety or environmental issues through the defined channels.

Required profile

• Technical training in mechanics, electromechanics, equipment maintenance, heavy machinery or an equivalent field.
• At least 4 years of confirmed experience as a maintenance technician, mobile technician, heavy machinery mechanic or similar, ideally in mining, construction, public works or quarries.
• Good knowledge of preventive and curative maintenance, fault diagnosis and repair procedures.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, manufacturer procedures and maintenance documents.
• Autonomy, organisation and customer service spirit, with frequent travel to client sites.
