IBM iSeries (AS/400) Infrastructure Support – L1

About the role

This is a Level 1 support position for IBM iSeries (AS/400) infrastructure, based in Medellín or Bogotá, Colombia, working 100% remotely. The role covers system monitoring, job and backup management, user administration and incident handling, with strong production support and shift handover experience required.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor LPARs, jobs, subsystems, CPU, memory, disk and overall system health
• Manage jobs and queues: hold, release, end, and handle failed or stuck jobs
• Monitor backups via BRMS, including backup failures and unsaved objects
• Manage user administration: profiles, passwords and access rights
• Monitor IFS and storage
• Perform basic TCP/IP and network troubleshooting
• Monitor IBM Power, HMC and VIOS systems
• Handle incidents, follow ITIL processes, respect SLAs and escalate to L2/L3 when needed

Required profile

• 2 to 4 years of experience with IBM i/AS400, production monitoring, job management, backup/BRMS, LPAR/HMC/VIOS and basic networking
• Strong production support and shift handover experience
