Project Development Director – LATAM

About the role

rePLANET is seeking a senior Project Development Director to lead the end‑to‑end development of nature‑based carbon projects across Latin America. The role offers high autonomy, requiring you to drive multiple projects from inception through operational handover while engaging senior internal and external stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the full lifecycle of project development, from origination and feasibility studies to execution and operational handover.
• Manage several projects simultaneously, ensuring alignment with strategic, commercial and technical objectives.
• Engage and influence C‑suite executives, investors, government bodies and strategic partners.
• Balance commercial priorities with scientific, environmental and technical requirements in project design.
• Oversee project governance, decision‑making and escalation processes at senior level.
• Control timelines, budgets and risk registers with minimal oversight.
• Represent rePLANET in high‑level negotiations, partnerships and regional engagements.

Required profile

• Fluent Spanish speaker.
• Extensive experience independently developing projects from inception to operational deployment.
• Background in carbon‑focused reforestation or renewable energy sectors.
• Proven ability to lead multiple complex projects concurrently with minimal supervision.
• Strong commercial acumen and ability to integrate scientific and technical considerations.
• Excellent communication and influencing skills with senior stakeholders.
• Highly developed project‑management capabilities and attention to detail.
