Project Engineer – Structural Design (Medellín)

About the role

DeSimone Consulting Engineering is seeking a Project Engineer to join its Medellín office. You will support the structural design process from concept through construction, working closely with multidisciplinary teams on a variety of high‑rise and large‑scale projects.

Key responsibilities

• Perform structural design and analysis using Revit, Rhino, ETABS, and SAP.
• Prepare drawings, calculations, and documentation for design deliverables.
• Coordinate with architects, clients, and other design team members to ensure design alignment.
• Conduct field observations and inspections under senior engineer guidance.
• Maintain accurate records of design decisions, calculations, and project documentation.
• Contribute to project planning and scheduling discussions with Project Managers.
• Apply structural codes, standards, and material knowledge to develop design solutions.
• Support quality‑assurance efforts by reviewing drawings and checking design accuracy.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Structural or Civil Engineering.
• 3–5 years of experience in structural design or analysis.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organization.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Eagerness to learn, collaborate, and grow within a dynamic engineering team.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Revit.
• Proficiency in Rhino.
• Experience with structural analysis software such as ETABS and SAP.
