Senior Accountant

About the role

Cloudstaff is hiring a Senior Accountant based in Bogotá, Colombia, working from the office during the morning shift (8am - 5pm CST). The accountant handles all aspects of accounting and supports leadership with accounting-related tasks; a medical accounting background is ideal.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare journal entries for accounting transactions and help with month-end closing for corporate entities
• Maintain the accuracy of the general ledger by preparing and posting journal entries in line with company policies and accounting principles
• Perform monthly, quarterly and annual reconciliations of balance sheet and income statement accounts such as cash, accounts receivable, accounts payable and fixed assets
• Analyze account variances and discrepancies and resolve reconciling items promptly
• Identify ways to improve reconciliation processes and support the development of process improvements
• Support documentation for tax filings and document processes and internal controls
• Carry out other duties supporting the financial management function as required

Required profile

• 2+ years of proven accounting experience
• Experience managing high-volume accounts under tight deadlines
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting
• High degree of professionalism, strong interpersonal skills and attention to detail

Required skills

• Proficiency with Xero, QuickBooks or similar software
