Senior Data Engineer 2026 - Remote Colombia

About the role

Aimpoint Digital is a fully remote data and analytics consultancy that works with clients from many industries to design end-to-end analytical solutions. It is looking for a Senior Data Engineer to act as a trusted advisor to clients, from data owners and analysts to C-level executives, and to solve complex data engineering use cases across industries.

Key responsibilities

• Work independently as part of a small team on client engagements, taking part in the development of the practice and helping with business development.
• Design and develop the analytical layer: cloud data warehouses, data lakes, ETL/ELT pipelines and orchestration jobs.
• Use tools such as Snowflake, Databricks, Fivetran and dbt, and write code in SQL, Python and Spark using Git and CI/CD.
• Support the deployment of data science and ML projects into production (no model development).

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years with relational databases and query languages, and 3+ years building data pipelines in production.
• 3+ years in data modeling (e.g. star schema, entity-relationship) and writing clean, maintainable code in Python, Scala, Java or similar.
• Ability to manage an individual workstream independently, manage stakeholders and communicate well in writing and speech.
• Consulting experience strongly preferred; willingness to travel.

Required skills

• Preferred: cloud data warehouses (Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, Synapse), cloud ETL/ELT tools (Fivetran, dbt, Matillion, Informatica, Talend), cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), Docker, Kubernetes, Apache Spark.
