Senior Frontend Engineer – Consumer Products

About the role

We are seeking a world‑class Senior Frontend Engineer to join the Consumer team building the Kraken app experience used by millions of traders worldwide. You will work across web (React) and mobile (React Native) to deliver high‑quality, data‑driven features.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain consumer‑facing features on web and mobile, owning the full lifecycle from concept to production monitoring.
• Drive A/B testing and experimentation, formulate hypotheses, analyse results and iterate based on data.
• Partner with Product, Design, Data, and Mobile engineers to create coherent cross‑platform experiences.
• Make opinionated technical decisions on frameworks and architecture, and set standards for code quality, accessibility, performance and testability.
• Mentor engineers of all seniority levels and lead complex cross‑platform initiatives.

Required profile

• 6+ years of professional software development experience focused on consumer‑facing web or mobile products.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
• Experience in fintech, crypto, payments or other high‑trust consumer products.

Required skills

• TypeScript and deep expertise in the React ecosystem (state management, data fetching, component architecture).
• Production experience with React Native and cross‑platform mobile release pipelines.
• Next.js (App Router, React Server Components) and familiarity with routing choices such as TanStack Router.
• Hands‑on experience with A/B testing and feature‑flag platforms (e.g., LaunchDarkly, Optimizely).
• Real‑time UI technologies like WebSockets or Server‑Sent Events.
• Testing frameworks: Jest, React Testing Library, Playwright or Cypress.
• Modern build tools (Vite, Webpack) and CI/CD pipelines.
• AI‑assisted development tools (Cursor, Claude Code, Copilot) with rigorous review practices.
