Supply Officer – Life Support Services

About the role

The Supply Officer will lead the Life Support Unit within the United Nations Verification Mission in Colombia, overseeing critical support services such as catering, fuel, water, and general supplies across all mission sites.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, review, and manage contracts for life‑support services, ensuring compliance with UN regulations.
• Prepare cost estimates, budget implications, and long‑term forecasts aligned with mission planning cycles.
• Monitor contract implementation and vendor performance, addressing KPI shortfalls proactively.
• Conduct market research and integrate best practices into life‑support operations.
• Lead technical assessments and field visits for resource efficiency during site planning, expansion, or closure.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and internal controls using SAP ERP and Microsoft tools.
• Analyze audit findings and operational reports, implementing corrective actions as needed.
• Prepare and validate SAP and Power BI reports, ensuring data accuracy.
• Coordinate goods in transit with MOVCON and oversee receipt and inspection processes.
• Represent the unit in contract committees and supervise junior staff, providing mentorship and performance oversight.

Required profile

• Proven experience in managing contracts and budgets for life‑support or logistics services.
• Demonstrated ability to supervise and mentor staff within a multi‑disciplinary team.
• Familiarity with UN procurement rules and environmental sustainability guidelines.
