Team Lead Controllership

About the role

The Team Lead Controllership ensures the completeness and accuracy of both US and local GAAP and tax reporting, working closely with Country Tax Centers. The role records statutory ledgers, maintains parallel ledgers, and coordinates tax accounting with internal and external audit teams. It also oversees the accounting for balance sheet and income statement processes, including OIE, retained earnings, equity clearing, interest, royalties, and brand marketing expenses.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure accurate US and local GAAP & tax reporting, recording statutory ledgers and maintaining parallel ledgers.
• Manage balance sheet and income statement processes, including OIE, retained earnings, equity clearing, interest, royalties, and marketing expense allocations.
• Oversee local travel and expense administration, standardizing processes to follow global taxonomy.
• Lead timely financial period closing, complying with SLA, internal audit, SOX, and compliance requirements.
• Supervise analysts, conduct performance evaluations, and ensure adherence to corporate policies and IFRS.
• Support auditors and legal authorities, identify compliance risks, and maintain strong internal controls.

Required profile

• Minimum 6 years of experience with responsibility for external audit, preferably Big Four.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and strong understanding of accounting principles, US GAAP, IFRS, and SOX internal controls.
• CPA, CMA, MBA or other financial certifications preferred.
• Experience in shared services or global accounting for multinational corporations.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, work under tight deadlines, and handle ambiguity.
