Accountant 2

About the role

The Accountant 2 ensures that the finance process is managed in line with Expro Group's financial policy and procedures, in compliance with local legislation, and helps the organisation monitor its financial health. The role covers month-end closing, reporting, VAT and reconciliation, and liaison with management and auditors.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure financial transactions are done on time and comply with company policies, procedures and legislative requirements.
• Assist in the month-end close to meet Group and business unit reporting deadlines.
• Prepare or assist in preparing balance sheets, monthly reports including accruals and prepayments, and analyse the data to highlight areas of concern.
• May prepare VAT returns and reconcile work-in-progress accounts.
• Check data between systems for accuracy, review discrepancies and keep records up to date for audit purposes.
• Assist with debtor and cash management and forecasting.
• Produce management reports on schedule, investigate discrepancies and liaise with management.
• Liaise with internal and external departments and with auditors as needed to resolve queries and ensure compliance.

Required profile

• Degree-qualified in a recognised accounting qualification.
• 4+ years of practical experience in a finance environment.
• Ability to liaise with managers, teams and other departments and resolve issues promptly.

Required skills

• SAP or a similar finance package.
• Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint and Word).
