Backend Developer (PHP/Laravel) – TMS Platform

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Backend Developer proficient in PHP and Laravel to enhance and maintain the server‑side infrastructure of our Transportation Management System (TMS) platform, which includes AI‑driven features. You will work on an existing production codebase and own the API layer serving web, mobile and chatbot clients.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain RESTful APIs that expose TMS business logic to web front‑ends, React Native mobile apps and chatbot services.
• Extend and refactor an existing Laravel (v9+) codebase, improving performance and removing obsolete features without disrupting live operations.
• Implement and manage Laravel authentication mechanisms such as OAuth, Sanctum or Passport.
• Design, migrate and optimise PostgreSQL/MySQL schemas, including indexing and query tuning on live data.
• Develop webhook and event‑driven systems for real‑time shipment status updates.
• Integrate queue solutions (Redis, RabbitMQ, Bull) for background processing and async tasks.
• Build and maintain third‑party integrations: ELD systems, carrier APIs, mapping/routing services, QuickBooks, Twilio, Mailgun, etc.
• Implement push‑notification infrastructure using Firebase Cloud Messaging and Apple Push Notification Service.
• Create APIs for offline sync, document processing pipelines, and LLM‑based chatbot tools, ensuring input validation and prompt‑injection safeguards.
• Maintain Git discipline with a clear branching strategy, code reviews and clean commit history across multiple products.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of professional backend development experience with PHP/Laravel (v9+).
• Proven track record of building and maintaining RESTful APIs in production environments.
• Deep knowledge of Laravel authentication (OAuth, Sanctum, Passport) and micro‑service or multi‑tenant SaaS architectures.
• Extensive experience with PostgreSQL or MySQL schema design, migrations, indexing and live data migrations.
• Hands‑on experience with queue systems (Redis, RabbitMQ, Bull) and event‑driven architectures.
• Strong Git proficiency, including branching strategies and code‑review processes.
