Backend JVM Software Engineer

About the role

Addi is building a leading financial platform in Colombia, offering payments, banking and e‑commerce services. The Backend JVM Engineer will join the Lending team to design, develop and maintain high‑performance services that enable seamless user transactions.

Key responsibilities

• Take end‑to‑end ownership of features: design, develop, test, release and operate them in production.
• Collaborate with product owners, designers and other engineers to deliver new functionality and improve system performance.
• Architect resilient, scalable components using JVM stack and Spring Boot.
• Write comprehensive unit, integration and automation tests and review pull requests daily.
• Deploy to production via CI/CD pipelines and participate in on‑call rotation.

Required profile

• 8+ years of backend development experience with JVM languages (Java, Kotlin or Scala).
• Proven track record delivering scalable, high‑performance systems in production.
• Experience working in agile teams, contributing to sprints, stand‑ups and retrospectives.
• Strong business acumen and ability to align technical solutions with product goals.

Required skills

• Java 11, Kotlin or Scala and Spring Boot.
• SQL, PostgreSQL and Redis.
• Message queues such as SQS or RabbitMQ; event streaming with Kafka.
• Containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes).
• Automated testing and CI/CD pipelines.
