Business Development Representative & Outbound Lead Generator

About the role

A U.S.-based medical equipment distributor specializing in women's health and OB/GYN ultrasound systems is hiring a Business Development Representative (BDR) to handle outbound prospecting and follow-ups with existing client accounts. The role is remote, based in South Africa or Latin America, full-time and IC, with U.S. Eastern Time overlap required. It reports to the Operations Manager / Sales Leadership and pays $1,800-$2,200 USD per month.

Key responsibilities

• Outbound phone calls to target lists of medical practices and clinics, and follow-up calls to existing accounts to track equipment satisfaction and upgrade timelines.
• Navigate office gatekeepers to reach practice managers and physicians, and present equipment solutions and upgrade opportunities to decision-makers.
• Schedule qualified phone and video calls and equipment demonstrations, ask basic discovery questions, and confirm appointments by phone or email.
• Research target practices with AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude) and log call activity, notes, appointments and tasks in HubSpot CRM.
• Maintain clean, categorized prospecting data and transfer call notes to the sales closing team.

Required profile

• 2+ years of outbound cold calling, appointment setting or phone prospecting experience.
• Experience speaking with healthcare decision-makers such as Office Managers, Practice Managers and Physicians.
• Fluent spoken and written English with clear phone communication; ability to work full-time during EST business hours.
• Preferred: experience with VoIP or cloud phone platforms, Google Workspace or Microsoft Excel.

• AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude) for account research.
• Clear, professional phone manner, resilience with daily outbound calling, attention to detail and ability to work independently.
