Cloud Engineer

About the role

EPAM is seeking a Cloud Engineer to lead the strategy, design, and operation of its enterprise cloud networking environment. You will create repeatable, secure, and scalable connectivity patterns that enable development teams to work efficiently while adhering to governance standards.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and manage global Cloud WAN segments, routing domains, and CIDR allocations.
• Define the cloud IP strategy in partnership with enterprise networking to avoid conflicts and ensure scalability.
• Document and promote standard connectivity patterns such as VPC peering, Transit Gateway, Cloud WAN alignment, firewall integrations, ZTNA, and private endpoints.
• Maintain service‑driven application layer routing and evaluate emerging technologies like VPC Lattice.
• Collaborate with security and infrastructure teams to meet policy, performance, and resiliency requirements.
• Resolve complex connectivity issues and lead root‑cause analysis across cloud and hybrid environments.
• Support migration of legacy workloads to standardized Cloud WAN and Cloud Firewall designs.
• Implement networking guardrails in developer self‑service models to prevent custom “snowflake” solutions.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of professional experience in large‑scale network engineering, preferably with AWS.
• Strong foundation in public‑cloud networking, IP address management, and security controls.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills in English (B2+ level).

Required skills

• AWS Cloud services (VPC, Cloud WAN, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, site‑to‑site VPN).
• Deep knowledge of VPC architecture, subnetting, routing, segmentation, and IPAM.
• Experience with Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) and cloud firewalls.
• Network security, observability, and performance tuning expertise.
