IDB Lead and Partnerships Officer

About the role

The World Food Programme (WFP) is hiring an IDB Lead and Partnerships Officer for its Programme and Partnerships Division International Financial Institutions Partnership Branch, based in Bogotá, Colombia. The position supports WFP's strategic engagement with the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), the World Bank and the IMF across the LACRO region, and reports to the PPD Deputy Director. It is a 12-month service contract (SC9) with extension subject to funds and performance.

Key responsibilities

• Advise the PPD Deputy Director on IFI partnerships in LACRO, acting as lead for the IDB and contributing to the World Bank, IMF and other IFIs
• Lead assigned geographic or thematic portfolio issues, improving service engagement, quality assurance and cost recovery models
• Analyze trends, opportunities, metrics and partnering modalities with Washington-based IFIs to advise LACRO country offices
• Standardize communication on progress and best practices and strengthen capacity building for country offices

Required profile

• Secondary education plus a university degree in Political Science, Law, Economics, International Relations, Public Health, Social Sciences or a related field
• At least ten years of progressively responsible experience in public sector management, development projects, emergency assistance and/or institutional strengthening; WFP field operations experience highly preferred
• Preferred: experience partnering with the IDB and other Washington-based IFIs
• Fluency in Spanish and proficiency in English (Level C)
