About the role

The Conversion Engineer plans, coordinates and executes product, process and equipment conversion activities to boost operational efficiency, quality and business outcomes. Working closely with engineering, operations, quality, maintenance and supply‑chain teams, the role ensures smooth implementation of changes while minimizing production disruption.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and support product, process and equipment conversion projects.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to guarantee successful implementation.
• Evaluate existing processes and recommend improvements for efficiency, quality and reliability.
• Develop and maintain conversion plans, work instructions, technical documentation and reports.
• Troubleshoot conversion issues and apply corrective actions.
• Support equipment setup, testing, validation and commissioning.
• Monitor conversion performance, analyse data and identify trends, risks and improvement opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality and regulatory requirements.
• Participate in continuous‑improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma or similar methodologies.
• Provide technical support and training to stakeholders during and after implementation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, Mechatronics or a related technical field.
• Strong problem‑solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
• Effective written and verbal communication in English and Spanish.

Required skills

• Proficiency with 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks, CATIA, Creo or Siemens NX.
• Experience using Materialise Magics and/or 3‑matic for 3D data preparation.
• Knowledge of additive manufacturing processes (FDM, SLA, SLS, MJF) and related design constraints.
• Basic scripting or programming skills (e.g., Python) – a plus.
