Manager, Capital Markets & Securities Settlements

About the role

ScotiaGBS is looking for a Manager, Capital Markets & Securities Settlements. The role covers managing the operations of securities settlement and capital markets, improving productivity and controls, and leading change and training.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and implement improvements in productivity, controls, cost-effectiveness and customer relations.
• Maintain an effective, economical organisation structure and follow the management control program and escalation matrix.
• Resolve operational problems so they do not recur.
• Keep up with industry and internal changes and their impact on the unit.
• Develop and run strategies, communications and change initiatives.
• Deliver or take part in training sessions and seminars.
• Advise on manuals, guides and procedures.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance or a related field.
• 3 years of experience in a management role, including coaching and performance appraisals.
• Experience in global securities, custody and capital markets.
• Advanced English.

Required skills

• Good knowledge of the bank's operational and compliance policies and procedures.
• Funding and settlement rules and infrastructure regulations across depositories and time zones.
• Knowledge of bank and settlement systems and systems principles.
• Analytical, problem-solving and people-management skills.
