Senior Shopify Developer / E‑Commerce Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Shopify Developer / Lead E‑Commerce Engineer to own the technical performance and growth of multiple e‑commerce properties. The role is hands‑on, remote and requires independent problem‑solving while translating technical decisions into measurable business results.

Key responsibilities

• Own the cart and checkout experience, improve checkout completion rates and optimise the mobile purchase path using funnel data, session replay and heatmaps.
• Run structured A/B tests, maintain reliable funnel instrumentation across GA4, PostHog and Shopify analytics.
• Manage technical SEO – titles, meta descriptions, structured data, hreflang, multilingual and multicurrency storefronts, and Core Web Vitals.
• Integrate Shopify with POS (Zakya), Zoho Inventory, accounting and analytics systems, building APIs, webhooks, middleware and monitoring.
• Configure payment gateways, fraud controls and B2B mechanics such as tiered pricing, price lists and credit terms.
• Oversee domains, DNS, SSL, hosting, security, backups and documentation of all integrations and processes.
• Write technical specifications, review code, enforce standards and mentor contract developers.

Required profile

• Professional written and spoken English and Spanish.
• 5+ years of full‑stack web development, including at least 3 years owning revenue‑generating Shopify stores.
• Proven conversion‑rate‑optimisation results with clear before‑and‑after metrics.
• Experience launching at least three Shopify stores from zero to live, preferably for multiple brands.

Required skills

• Shopify platform – Liquid, theme architecture, custom sections, metafields, checkout customisation, Admin API.
• Front‑end: HTML, CSS, JavaScript.
• Back‑end: Node.js, SQL.
• Technical SEO, multilingual storefronts, Core Web Vitals.
• Analytics: GA4, product analytics, session‑replay tools.
• API integration, webhooks, POS/ERP systems (Zoho, Zakya).
• Version control with Git, documentation and automated testing.
