Accountant

About the role

EPAM is seeking an Accountant to provide reliable accounting support for its Colombian entity. The role combines daily financial processing with involvement in reporting, compliance, and close activities, working across finance and business functions.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure accurate ERP journal entries, validate supplier billing, and manage expense accruals.
• Account for sales invoices, administer fixed‑asset records, and reconcile balance‑sheet accounts each month.
• Assist with month‑end and year‑end activities, prepare recurring journals, accruals, and close documentation.
• Support management and statutory reporting, including financial statements and disclosures.
• Provide accounting details for Colombian tax compliance (VAT, withholdings, income tax) under supervision.
• Facilitate internal and external audit work by preparing schedules and source documents.
• Collaborate with Treasury, Tax, Receivables, and Payables to resolve recording and reporting issues.
• Help improve finance operations through automation, process harmonisation, and ERP/reporting updates.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Public Accounting and a current Tarjeta Profesional for Colombia.
• Minimum two years of accounting experience in a large company, global organisation or shared service centre.
• Hands‑on experience with local accounting tasks such as invoice accruals, billing recognition, ledger maintenance and asset accounting.
• Involvement in monthly and yearly financial closes and preparation of financial reports.
• Introductory knowledge of Colombian VAT, withholding taxes and income tax.
• Understanding of Colombian accounting regulations; IFRS/NIIF knowledge is a plus.
• English proficiency at B2 level or higher.

Required skills

• Intermediate Excel (lookup formulas, PivotTables, filtering, reconciliation templates).
• Experience with ERP systems, preferably SAP.
