Accounts Payable Accountant (Remote, LATAM)

About the role

Athyna, a global talent platform, is recruiting an Accounts Payable Accountant for its client, a group travel marketplace that connects hosts, creators and community leaders with local tour operators. The client has about 30 people and a small finance team, so the role is visible and has room to grow. It is 100% remote, full time, paid in USD, reporting to Portland, Oregon (any US timezone), and requires advanced English.

Key responsibilities

• Code and process vendor bills and contractor payments in Ramp and NetSuite
• Reconcile Ramp and Transferz activity to NetSuite each month
• Post bank-feed activity in NetSuite and keep it up to date
• Prepare and submit insurance manifests for upcoming trips
• After training (by March 2027), prepare host earnings and operator payment batches from system reports, including payments in other currencies
• Reconcile host and operator prepaid balances each month
• Answer routine host and operator payment questions and escalate anything unusual the same day
• Prepare the payroll journal entry from the payroll provider's summary report
• Support month-end close and the annual audit with schedules and supporting documents
• Keep written procedures current as processes change

Required profile

• 3+ years of experience in accounts payable
• Hands-on experience preparing vendor payments
• Strong professional English, written and spoken, comfortable writing to vendors and partners
• Dedicated work device and a reliable internet connection
• Accounting degree or progress toward a professional qualification (stand-out)
• Experience in travel, marketplaces or businesses with many small payees (stand-out)

Required skills

• ERP or accounting system (NetSuite, QuickBooks, Xero or Sage Intacct)
• NetSuite, including bills, payments and bank reconciliations (stand-out)
• Ramp or a similar spend-management tool (stand-out)
• Some exposure to international or multi-currency payments
