AI Tech Architect - Generative AI

About the role

BCG Platinion's AI Platforms Group is looking for an AI Tech Architect to help clients unlock the value of Generative AI by turning business needs into practical, scalable and secure technology solutions. The role combines architecture knowledge with hands-on technical experience and works alongside BCG consultants, Platinion architects and engineers, and client teams. It is based in Santiago or Bogota, with travel to client sites depending on project needs.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze existing application, data and technology landscapes to identify AI architecture opportunities and constraints.
• Support the design of Generative AI and machine learning architectures aligned with client requirements and enterprise standards.
• Evaluate cloud platforms, AI services, middleware and tooling on scalability, performance, security and cost.
• Develop architecture views, technical roadmaps and business cases with support from senior team members.
• Contribute to the design and implementation of AI platforms and prototypes, and review technical solutions and vendor proposals.
• Explain complex architecture concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.

Required profile

• 2-4 years of experience in AI/ML, software engineering or technology consulting.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence or a related field.
• Experience designing, developing or implementing AI, machine learning or Generative AI solutions in enterprise environments.
• Fluency in English and Spanish.
• Ability to evaluate architectural options and explain trade-offs to technical and business stakeholders.

Required skills

• Python, with familiarity with TypeScript, JavaScript or R.
• AI frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, LangChain or LlamaIndex.
• Knowledge of large language models, RAG, prompt engineering, vector databases, MLOps and responsible AI.
• Cloud AI platforms such as Azure AI Foundry, AWS Bedrock or Google Vertex AI.
• Scalable data architectures integrating structured and unstructured data.
