AML Analyst

About the role
The AML Analyst will support ScotiaGBS’s Anti‑Money Laundering Operations Unit in Bogotá, contributing to the team’s strategies and objectives while ensuring compliance with regulatory and internal requirements.
Key responsibilities
- Investigate and assess customer relationships to identify financial, reputational, operational, and compliance risks.
- Conduct Enhanced Due Diligence, name screening, transaction monitoring, media searches and related AML activities.
- Analyze transactions and detect unusual patterns in international payments and trade finance.
- Prepare risk assessment reports describing suspected money‑laundering typologies and recommended remediation actions.
- Support business line colleagues and respond to requests from partners, security, investigations and shared services.
- Assist the AML manager in mitigating money‑laundering and terrorist‑financing risks.
Required profile
- Strong understanding of AML/CTF regulations, industry best practices and criminal typologies.
- Ability to work in a customer‑centric environment and collaborate with cross‑functional teams.
- Excellent analytical and investigative skills with attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills in English and Spanish.
