Architect – Retail – Junior

About the role

Gensler is seeking a Junior Architect focused on retail and retail roll‑out projects. You will blend creativity with technical expertise to support client goals, while gaining experience in commercial development and project coordination.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate client interactions, project teams, and general contractors.
• Manage full documentation with structural, MEP, lighting, AV, landscape, and civil consultants.
• Maintain project manuals, specifications, and ensure code‑compliant drawings.
• Conduct on‑site observations, document reviews, and process submittals, RFIs, and substitution requests.
• Interface with building and permitting officials throughout permitting and construction phases.
• Support office culture and internal initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture.
• 3+ years of architectural experience, including at least 1 year focused on retail.
• Fluent in English and Spanish with strong written and verbal communication.
• Understanding of building construction, codes, and ability to produce clear technical documents.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and organizational abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Revit.
• Working knowledge of building codes and standards.
• Experience creating construction documentation.
