Assistant Controller – Marketing

About the role

We are looking for an Assistant Controller to support the finance function of a digital‑first marketing company. The role will work closely with shared services teams—including AP, AR, Payroll, Billing, Treasury, and Corporate Finance—to ensure accurate accounting, timely month‑end close, and reliable financial reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in preparing monthly financial statements and management reports.
• Support month‑end close activities: journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and variance analysis.
• Maintain balance‑sheet reconciliations and ensure sub‑ledger alignment.
• Review payroll‑related journal entries and perform payroll reconciliations.
• Handle intercompany reconciliations across Stagwell subsidiaries.
• Manage departmental allocations, chargebacks, and billing to Stagwell brands.
• Support treasury functions, including banking transactions and cash forecasting.
• Ensure accurate coding and timely processing of AP and AR transactions.
• Utilize ERP (Maconomy preferred) to track financial activity and support operational initiatives.
• Assist with budget preparation, quarterly forecasts, and variance reporting.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly reporting packages for Corporate Finance.

Required profile

• Detail‑oriented and analytical with strong accounting fundamentals.
• Proactive and able to thrive in a fast‑paced environment.
• Experience with ERP systems, preferably Maconomy.
• Ability to collaborate across multiple finance and shared‑services teams.
