Bid Specialist - Process Automation Solutions

About the role

Rockwell Automation is hiring a Bid Specialist in Bogota to lead the bidding process for its Process Automation Solutions, covering solutions, services, design, manufacturing and automation projects. The role develops technical and commercial proposals, validates technical solutions and supports the sales team from first customer contact through contract signing. It reports to the Proposal Manager, Lifecycle Services, and follows a hybrid arrangement.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage the bidding process from initial customer engagement through contract signing.
• Develop proposal documents for automation solutions and evaluate customer RFQs to position Rockwell Automation competitively.
• Validate and endorse the technical aspects of proposed solutions so they match customer business goals, requirements and operational needs.
• Work with Sales, Solution Consultants, Project Management, Engineering and third-party suppliers to build accurate technical and commercial proposals.
• Execute bid approvals, manage complex proposals, support customer discussions during bidding and identify risks to maximise proposal profitability.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in a large industrial systems and automation solutions delivery business.
• Preferred: 3+ years of project execution experience in industrial automation, and previous commercial experience in automation-related roles.

Required skills

• Preferred: experience with Process Automation Solutions such as DCS, SCADA, PLC, HMI, engineering, FAT, SAT, SIT, system architecture preparation and drives.
• Preferred: experience as a Proposal Engineer or Proposal Consultant, and project management knowledge.
• Preferred: experience with technical solution validation, proposal development and commercial bidding for automation projects.
