Business Development Specialist – Logistics & Transportation

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Business Development Specialist to drive growth for our transportation marketplace. You will generate leads, conduct outbound outreach, and build strong relationships with carriers, owner‑operators, trailer companies and other logistics partners.

Key responsibilities

• Independently manage high‑volume outbound prospecting via phone, email and other channels.
• Identify and qualify sales opportunities, scheduling meetings for the closing team.
• Develop and maintain relationships with prospective transportation customers.
• Communicate the company’s value proposition and address prospect objections.
• Maintain accurate activity records and pipeline updates in the CRM.
• Collaborate with sales, customer service and operations to ensure smooth handoff of qualified leads.
• Track outreach metrics and meet daily, weekly and monthly activity targets.
• Provide market insights and suggest improvements to prospecting strategies.

Required profile

• 2–3 years of experience in logistics, transportation, carrier sales, freight brokerage or related business development roles.
• Strong understanding of trucking, freight, drayage or brokerage operations.
• Proven ability to work autonomously while maintaining high performance standards.
• Excellent verbal and written communication with strong relationship‑building skills.
• Comfortable conducting cold calls and high‑volume outreach.
