Charging Project Utility, Design & Permitting Coordinator

About the role

Tesla is seeking a seasoned Design Coordinator to lead the end‑to‑end development of new Supercharger sites. The role bridges concept design, construction drawing production, permitting, and utility interconnection, ensuring projects are ready for construction.

Key responsibilities

• Drive the design program to deliver high‑quality charging site designs on schedule.
• Produce construction‑ready drawings and oversee the permitting process.
• Collaborate with utilities to secure interconnection designs and easements.
• Mentor and manage design team members, handling hiring, onboarding, and performance.
• Identify and implement design innovations that improve cost efficiency, speed, and customer experience.
• Coordinate with Development and Construction leads to maintain a steady pipeline of ready‑to‑build projects.
• Develop relationships with regional utilities and permitting authorities to accelerate approvals.

Required profile

• 10+ years of experience in architectural or engineering design, construction, and project management.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams in a fast‑paced environment.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and a track record of delivering complex infrastructure projects.
