Chief, Operations and Resource Management

About the role

The Chief, Operations and Resource Management (CORM) leads the strategic and cross‑cutting mission support functions for the United Nations Verification Mission in Colombia (UNVMC). Reporting to the Chief of Mission Support, the CORM ensures coherence in forecasting, performance monitoring, planning and coordination of operational and resourcing activities across the mission.

Key responsibilities

• Provide overall guidance, support and oversight for Human Resources, Financial Resourcing and Performance, Field Technology, Training, Mission Support units and Regional Administrative Officers.
• Assist the Chief of Mission Support in setting strategic direction for mission support components.
• Develop, coordinate and monitor work plans for administrative activities, securing required human, financial, logistic and technological resources.
• Plan and forecast staffing, financial, logistic and technology requirements in collaboration with other mission offices.
• Liaise with UN Headquarters to align mission planning and resource allocation with HQ priorities and policies.
• Lead the Operational Resource Management Section, ensuring strategic advisory services in HR management, financial resourcing and performance are delivered effectively.

Required profile

• Extensive senior‑level experience in managing multi‑disciplinary support functions within an international or UN context.
• Proven ability to provide strategic direction, oversee large teams and coordinate complex operational planning.
• Strong understanding of human resources, finance, logistics and technology integration in peace‑operations.
