Civil Project Engineer

About the role

Join WSP’s Aviation team as a Civil Project Engineer and contribute to the design and delivery of critical airport infrastructure. You will work on projects ranging from runways and taxiways to airfield lighting and de‑icing facilities, supporting every phase from concept to construction.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate conceptual, functional, and detailed design phases for airport infrastructure projects.
• Develop and review technical specifications, quantity take‑offs, and cost estimates.
• Prepare engineering drawings, design reports, and presentation materials.
• Collaborate with internal teams, sub‑consultants, and project managers to ensure seamless delivery.
• Liaise with clients and stakeholders, supporting communication and issue resolution.
• Support quality assurance and quality control processes across design deliverables.
• Contribute to proposal preparation, including scope definition, budgeting, and scheduling.
• Analyze project schedules to track milestones and critical‑path activities.
• Perform field reviews and attend project sites to support design and construction activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.
• 5+ years of engineering experience in aviation or related transportation/infrastructure projects.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) or eligibility for registration in Ontario is an asset.
• Familiarity with TP312 5th Edition, ICAO, or FAA standards is a plus.

Required skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Experience with 3D modelling of underground utilities in Civil 3D.
• Strong command of Microsoft Office Suite.
• Knowledge of project scheduling or modelling tools.
