Compliance & Governance Specialist

About the role

We are developing new AI‑driven products for healthcare and need a specialist to own the compliance and governance layer from day one. This full‑time remote position offers real scope and ownership over AI safety, fairness, and regulatory adherence.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain policies governing AI agents that process patient documents.
• Establish fairness and bias‑prevention standards, including demographic equity.
• Define testing and sign‑off procedures to validate AI safety and effectiveness.
• Partner with product and engineering teams for responsible AI deployment.
• Define PHI tracking requirements (user ID, access time, records accessed).
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA Security & Privacy Rules and HITRUST frameworks.
• Build and maintain audit trails for HHS and Medicaid oversight.
• Create proactive compliance policies for new product initiatives.

Required profile

• 3‑5+ years of experience in healthcare privacy, compliance, or information security.
• Deep hands‑on knowledge of HIPAA, HITRUST, and federal audit requirements.
• Experience developing AI governance frameworks or policies.
• Ability to work cross‑functionally with product, engineering, and legal teams.
• Proactive communicator who provides guidance, not just reactive reviews.
