Controller

About the role

A multinational company with about 50 employees, based in Bogota, Colombia, is looking for a Controller who reports to the Regional Financial Controller. The role covers full responsibility for the accounting function, including monthly closing and reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Closing the books each month and reporting operating results by the fifth workday
• Support A/R collections, send customer statements monthly and review A/R aging weekly
• Enter A/P payments in online banking, request approvals, review cash balance, prepare cash flow forecasts and pay I/C
• Coordinate payroll disbursements with the payroll provider and reconcile balance sheet accounts monthly
• Set up internal controls, manage and develop the accounting team, and ensure international accounting policies are followed
• Work with vendors on annual income tax and monthly VAT returns, coordinate the year-end audit and prepare statutory filings
• Support local, regional and global management, provide quarterly billed-revenue-by-client and capital forecasts, and reply to head office inquiries
• Coordinate the annual budget and monthly forecasts, work with Country Management to reduce A/R and Work in Progress, and handle administration as needed

Required profile

• Fluent English, spoken and written
• US GAAP knowledge and experience performing accounting consolidations for US companies
• At least 5 years in a similar role
• CPA or equivalent
• Some travel may be required
