Controller – Nonprofit Finance Leader

About the role

We are seeking a detail‑oriented, hands‑on Comptroller to manage the day‑to‑day financial operations of a nonprofit organization. You will ensure accurate reporting, strong internal controls, and compliance with nonprofit accounting standards while supporting strategic financial decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily accounting functions including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, reconciliations, and payroll oversight.
• Prepare accurate monthly financial statements, budget‑to‑actual reports, and analyses for leadership and Board review.
• Monitor cash flow, oversee banking relationships, and maintain robust financial controls and compliance procedures.
• Lead audit preparation and coordinate with external auditors, accountants, and regulatory agencies.
• Support financial planning, process improvements, and documentation of accounting policies and procedures.

Required profile

• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
• Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting, finance, or controllership experience.
• Experience in nonprofit, healthcare, or behavioral health environments is highly preferred.
• Strong understanding of financial reporting, audit preparation, cash‑flow management, and internal controls.
• Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities independently.
• Available to work US time zones (graveyard shift for Philippines) and start within two weeks of offer.
