Controller – Remote (Finance & Accounting)

About the role

B Consulting is seeking a remote Controller to serve multiple high‑growth startups and early‑stage businesses. You will work directly with founders, acting as a trusted financial advisor while leading a distributed accounting team.

Key responsibilities

• Lead full‑cycle month‑end close and produce timely, accurate financial statements.
• Analyze financial reports and communicate insights to founders.
• Serve as primary liaison for external auditors and tax preparers.
• Oversee bookkeeping, reconciliations, accrual journal entries, accounts receivable, and accounts payable.
• Manage payroll setup, processing, and benefits administration.
• Handle purchase order, inventory, and warehouse management, including cost of goods sold and bill of materials.
• Build financial models, budgets, cash forecasts, and three‑statement financial models.
• Implement and maintain accounting software solutions (QuickBooks, Xero, NetSuite, etc.).
• Manage tax compliance, annual federal and state filings, and related government reporting.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred, preferably in Accounting or Finance.
• 10+ years of accounting experience in technology, consumer products, or life‑science industries.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, ASC 606 revenue recognition, and advanced accounting concepts.
• Excellent communication and time‑management skills.
