Cybersecurity Senior Sales Engineer

About the role

Thales is seeking a Senior Sales Engineer to act as the technical backbone for critical cybersecurity decisions across LATAM. You will serve as a trusted advisor, guiding customers from discovery through proof‑of‑value and positioning Thales’ Cloud Protection & Licensing solutions to address application security and data protection challenges.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the full technical sales cycle, including discovery, RFP/RFI responses, solution design, demos, and proof‑of‑value engagements.
• Translate complex technical concepts into clear, business‑focused narratives for both technical audiences and C‑suite stakeholders.
• Build trusted partnerships with engineering teams, IT leaders, and executive decision‑makers.
• Architect customized security solutions that meet each customer’s compliance and risk requirements.
• Collaborate with Product, Business Development, and Customer Success teams to ensure seamless delivery.
• Monitor market trends, competitive landscape, and emerging technologies to keep Thales solutions cutting‑edge.

Required profile

• 5+ years of pre‑sales experience in cybersecurity, enterprise software, networking, or security.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong communication and presentation skills in English (B2+) and Spanish.
• Colombian citizenship, residency, or valid work permit.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with Web Application Firewalls (WAF), Bot Management, or DDoS mitigation solutions.
• Practical experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization (Kubernetes, Docker).
• Knowledge of Hardware Security Modules (HSMs) and web application security.
• Familiarity with compliance frameworks such as PCI, SOX, and HIPAA.
