Data & AI Engineering Expert

About the role

Opella is seeking a Data & AI Engineering Expert to design, develop, and maintain its data infrastructure and pipelines. You will collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and cross‑functional teams to ensure data is accessible, accurate, and actionable.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain data pipelines and ETL processes using Databricks, Apache Iceberg, Unity Catalog, Python, Airflow and DBT.
• Develop and optimise data models and schemas for analytical and reporting needs.
• Manage data integration and migration projects across AWS and Azure cloud platforms.
• Monitor and troubleshoot data workflows, ensuring high data quality and availability.
• Stay current with industry trends and best practices in data engineering and cloud technologies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science or related field.
• Proven experience designing and optimising Databricks platforms with Apache Iceberg and Unity Catalog.
• Strong problem‑solving skills, attention to detail and ability to work collaboratively.

Required skills

• Python for data manipulation, automation and ETL/ELT.
• Airflow and DBT for data ingestion, transformation and modelling.
• Major cloud providers: AWS and Azure.
• Data warehousing concepts and practices.
• Snowflake and Informatica Cloud (plus).
