Data Engineer

About the role

Capgemini Engineering is looking for a Data Engineer to join its global R&D and engineering services team. You will be responsible for planning, managing and executing releases across development, testing and production environments while supporting client data conversion and migration projects.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, manage and execute release packages from development to production, including step‑by‑step deployment guides and command‑line instructions.
• Identify technical and functional inter‑dependencies across multiple development pods and coordinate with stakeholders.
• Review application code and documentation, perform pre‑ and post‑deployment tasks, and communicate change‑management updates.
• Support project timelines, set clear expectations and realign priorities as needed.

Required profile

• Experience executing deployment scripts in test and production environments.
• Comfortable working with command‑line interfaces and CI/CD pipelines.
• Understanding of Git branching, packaging and DevOps concepts.
• Ability to grasp client needs related to data conversion, environment management and solution design.
