Deployment Strategist
breakmark
Job description
About the role
The Deployment Strategist is the business counterpart to the Forward Deployed Engineer during client onboarding. While the engineer owns the technical build, the strategist owns the why and the what: understanding how the client's operation runs, deciding which use cases go live first, and ensuring each deployment delivers measurable impact on fill rates, inventory levels and cash-to-cash cycle time. The role reports to the Head of FDE & Research and works alongside the engineer from signature through go-live, then hands the account to Customer Success.
Key responsibilities
- Lead business discovery after signature: map the client's supply chain workflows, decision-makers, pain points and success metrics.
- Define and prioritize use cases per onboarding, sequence them so each deployment compounds the next, and turn them into scoped requirements for the engineer.
- Own the client's business stakeholders through onboarding: run steering meetings, manage expectations and scope, and keep the timeline on track.
- Translate between the client's operation and the AI, explaining what the agents can and cannot do, and feed client insights back to the research team.
- Build the value case: baseline metrics before go-live, impact tracking after, and a business narrative supporting renewal and expansion.
- Co-own the handback with the engineer: success criteria met, value documented, and expansion opportunities handed to Customer Success and Sales.
Required profile
- 3-5 years in strategy or management consulting, solutions consulting, customer-facing product roles, or operations at a tech startup.
- Comfortable working in ambiguity, turning a messy reality into a clear, prioritized plan.
- Fluent in Spanish and English, able to communicate with executives clearly.
- Available to work across time zones and travel to client sites when needed; based in LATAM or the US.
Required skills
- Reading dashboards and building analyses in spreadsheets or basic SQL.
- Understanding of APIs, integrations and AI agents in enterprise workflows.
- Nice to have: background in supply chain, logistics or operations; consulting firm (MBB, Big 4) or AI/SaaS experience; prototyping workflows with LLMs or no-code tools.
